Day maker Jess shortlisted for national award

Congratulations to Cattle Country team member Jess who has been shortlisted for a national award.

Jess King is a finalist in the National Farm Attractions Network (NFAN) annual awards, where she has been nominated as Day Maker of the Year.

Jess is part of the casual team here at Cattle Country, working weekends and holidays, while she studies at University. Her role is a Team Leader, supervising other staff and ensuring that activities run smoothly.

The NFAN national awards recognise success in the farm park sector and Jess was nominated after receiving customer compliments and feedback from people she’d helped in the park during 2017.

Stuart Burnell, General Manager said: “In a team of ‘day makers’ we always think that it’s hard for one member of staff to stand out, but this year we received more feedback about Jess than anyone else. The compliments are often related to particular situations in which she’s helped customers and dealt with people with empathy and calmness. It’s a big achievement to be shortlisted and we wish her luck for the finals.”

Colin Evans, NFAN Chairman said: “The farm park sector continues to grow and develop with new attractions opening and existing operators investing in new facilities. The standard of entries has been exceptionally high making some tough decisions for the judges.

The winners will be announced on Wednesday 31st January 2018 at the annual awards dinner in Telford as part of a three-day Conference and Trade Exhibition. The annual gathering of farm attraction owners and industry suppliers is the highlight event of the year.
